Application Summary
Customer requires an assembly cell for insulated HVAC unit walls. As sheet metal arrives from the presses via inline rough top belt conveyor, it runs under the automatic hot melt dispense nozzles, receives glue, then presses set time for the cell. The SH166T robot selects a piece of insulation from one of several magazines. The Nachi SH166T robot gripsone piece of insuulation and moves it to the regrip stand where it is placed, squared, and then regripped. The Nachi SH166T robot moves to the conveyor and places the insulation on the fly into the steel wall panel.
Application Highlights
The Nachi SH166T robot features two external axes that allows the robot to adapt to the various part sizes and also perform a "tuck" process during the final insulation insertion.
