PLEASANTON, Calif., Sep 21, 2009 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) -- Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced it will be demonstrating flexible part feeding with its new Adept AnyFeeder BX400 flexible part feeder at the MOTEK trade show in Stuttgart, Germany September 21-24, 2009. The company will also be showcasing its advanced packaging management software solution, ACE PackXpert and the Adept Quattro s650H robot with vision in booth 7208 in hall 7. The company's demonstrations will highlight technology enabling manufacturers to ramp up production with solutions that are cost effective to implement, deploy, and support.
"Packaging manufacturers are increasingly challenged by reduced batch sizes, greater SKUs or product variants and the need to decrease time to market. They therefore require tools to reduce resources necessary to integrate, deploy and change-over packaging solutions," said Rush LaSelle, Director of Global Sales and Marketing of Adept Technology, Inc. "Automated solutions must be capable of addressing the dynamics taking place in the supply chain where frequent change has become the norm. The AnyFeeder BX400 flexible part feeder provides a compelling solution satisfying these requirements. It offers companies the ability to manage multiple parts or small batch sizes where previous equipment was unable to meet return on investment hurdles."
Adept AnyFeeder BX400
The Adept AnyFeeder BX400 is a newly developed flexible part feeding unit with a large 250l bulk feeder with integrated level inspection. The 400 mm width conveyor and elevating conveyor belt are driven by two brushless servo and AC-drives. The new Adept AnyFeeder BX400 is designed to work with a full complement of Adept robots. In combination with an Adept Quattro s650H, 120 parts per minutes are achievable. The new Adept AnyFeeder BX400 is an excellent solution when randomly ordered parts must be handled quickly, which is common in cosmetics, medical disposables and injection molding applications.
The MOTEK event is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain information on the latest developments and trends in robotics. Visitors can connect with companies and their technologies by attending the MOTEK exhibitor forum, which will feature a presentation on "Using Modern Robot Systems with Vision" to be presented by Olaf Trimpop-Dietz, Regional Sales Manager, Adept Technology GmbH on September 21 at 11:00 AM.
