Stäubli Robotics to exhibit advanced pick and place technology at PACK EXPO 2013
DUNCAN, SC – Each year brings new technological advancements geared to solving the packaging industry’s most pressing concerns - and PACK EXPO is the place to discover them. The world’s largest packaging and processing event, PACK EXPO 2013 will take place September 23 - 25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The Stäubli Robotics exhibit at Booth 5833 is sure to be a highlight.
Following up the introduction of its lightning-fast TP80 Fast Picker last year, Stäubli will demonstrate the newest innovation in high-speed pick and place: the LineManager System. While the first 60% - 70% of load balancing conditions are manageable with existing software, Stäubli has created the only comprehensive load balancing software package on the market. This unique solution offers total part traceability with centralized line control for the entire system from a single platform.
LineManager is compatible with all Stäubli robots – but ideal with the TP80 Fast Picker. PACK EXPO attendees will have the opportunity to learn how the system takes control of these powerful machines, capable of handling small parts with absolute precision at 200 picks per minute.
LineManager not only meets the industry’s need for speed, sorting and orienting; it also brings a game-changing level of control to sorting and placing multiple types of parts into one package. “The systems currently available are gatekeepers. They cannot handle multiple conveyor flow configurations, and always run the robots at full speed,” explains Bob Rochelle, a Stäubli Food and Packaging Industry Specialist, noting, “They cannot compensate for variations in the input part stream, so ultimately there’s no guarantee that all of the cavities in the output are filled.”
During high-speed pick and place operations, LineManager reacts intelligently to each part, adjusting conveyor and robot speed automatically. It is also more flexible than other solutions, able to work in parallel flow, counter flow and mono flow conditions. This ensures that, regardless of flow or part variation, every package is complete prior to any post processes such as sealing.
Anyone looking to optimize packaging output while keeping interruptions and errors at a minimum is encouraged to visit Stäubli at Booth 5833 and find out how LineManager can be applied to their processes. Learn more about the event at www.packexpo.com.About Stäubli:
