Lincoln Electric Appoints Frank Armao as Director of Aluminum Welding Technology

The Lincoln Electric Company has appointed Frank Armao as Director of Aluminum Welding Technology.
As Director, Armao will use his 40 years of welding industry experience to help him provide industry-leading direction, end-user customer support and applications engineering insight to create optimized aluminum welding solutions for Lincoln Electric customers. He will collaborate closely with both the aluminum welding technology teams at Lincoln Electric’s Cleveland headquarters and at Lincoln Electric subsidiary Indalco Alloys, a producer of high quality aluminum wire products based in Ontario, Canada.
One of the world’s leading experts in aluminum welding, Armao has been with Lincoln Electric for 13 years. Prior to assuming his new role, Armao served as Director, Application Engineering and Country Manager, Korea, for Lincoln Electric’s Asia Pacific business unit. Before joining Lincoln Electric in 1999, Armao served as Technical Specialist for Alcoa at its Technical Center, where he was responsible for the leadership of the arc welding group in its support of Alcoa customers worldwide.
Armao earned his bachelor of science and master of science degrees in metallurgical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He serves on the American Welding Society (AWS) Welding Handbook Committee, and acts as Chairman of the AWS D1(G) Aluminum Subcommittee. He is also a member of AWS’s D1 Main Committee and the Aluminum Association Technical Advisory Panel on Welding and Joining.
