Lincoln Electric Introduces Interactive Guide for New EPA Regulations

Lincoln Electric, Automation Division

Online Guide Designed to Help Metal Fabricators Prepare to Control Hazardous Air Pollutants

Lincoln Electric has introduced a new interactive, online guide to help metal fabricators determine if the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Metal Fabrication Hazardous Air Pollutants (MFHAP) and National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulation applies to their welding operations. The deadline for compliance with the regulation is July 25, 2011.

The online guide, designed as an interactive flow chart, introduces the types of organizations and the nine source categories affected by the regulation, while prompting users to select yes or no if the rule applies. The response to each yes or no question progresses the user to a new aspect of the regulation, helping the user to determine if and how the regulation applies to their welding operations.

A handy glossary of terms associated with the regulation and resource materials are also included in the convenient easy-to-use tool.

Lincoln Electric also offers direct contact to industry professionals for those who seek additional information, have questions or wish to provide feedback. Responses to the user requests will be handled by an appropriate subject matter expert from a panel of Lincoln Electric professionals.
