Stäubli introduces its updated software structure including new products. The latest innovations in robotics programming and control.

DUNCAN, SC - Stäubli Robotics introduces its latest innovation in robotics control software: uniVal Drive. Featuring a standard real-time interface for a simple connection to external control systems, uniVAL Drive provides a simple tool for controlling Stäubli’s complete product line of four- and six-axis robots from generic industrial motion controllers.

The uniVAL Drive provides a smart way to control Stäubli robots from an industrial motion controller via an industrial state-of-the-art field bus.

A unique plug-and-play solution, uniVAL Drive meets user demands for an interface fully compliant with the existing industrial axis control protocols for control operations of Stäubli robots. OEMs and machine builders are now able to drive Stäubli robots as standard machines suited for a wide range of applications, with no need for training in an external man-machine interface.

At the world premier, the uniVAL Drive was met with great enthusiasm on the part of machine builders from a number of industrial sectors. “Thanks to this real time interface, complete programming of the plant and robots can easily be done by the plant’s central generic motion controller. Programmers wasting time working with two different programming systems to operate the plant and the robot is finally a thing of the past. The uniVAL Drive remarkably eases the integration of Stäubli robots and makes the procedure simpler and faster than ever before, saving time, costs and resources,” remarked Gerald Vogt, R & D Manager, Stäubli Faverges.
