Control and Machine Loading
Faverges (France) - Ernault, a partner of STÄUBLI France, installed a RX130 L robot at Delphi Spain. Delphi is an automotive supplier owned by General Motors. This robot controls a complete machining cell of driving shafts.
Ernault, founded in 1892, manufactures a wide range of CNC lathes and machin-ing centers. This company offers diverse services in terms of technical support, training, feasibility studies, after-sales service and maintenance. Thanks to a strong partnership with STÄUBLI, Ernault integrated the RX130 L robot at Delphi.
Located in the center of the cell, the RX130 L robot, equipped with 2 independent grippers, loads/unloads two Ernault CNC lathes (type ET220) as well as a control station. The driving shafts, weighing 0.7 kg each, are picked and placed in six different locations. The robot, master of the cell, controls the measurement of the parts and gives this information back to the first or the second machine for possible value corrections. At the end of the cycle, the parts are 100% controlled before their removal from the cell.
The performance of this installation is particularly high:
- Output/hour : 200 parts,
- Loading/unloading time : 7 seconds.
The flexibility represents the focal point of this installation which can work in different ways; according to the production requirements, the robot handles one or two lathes, but does not necessarily manage the control station.
