Adept Technology Celebrates the Past, Present, and Future of Robotic Technology at Major Automation Event
Adept Technology, Inc. Posted 03/22/2011
Showcasing the Industry's First Direct-Drive Robot, Today's Fastest Parallel Robot, and the Future Standard in Intelligent Autonomously Guided Vehicles, Adept is Proud to Continue Its Contribution to the Industry
Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, will cram 28 years of robotic history making into a four day automation event. Adept will be displaying the industry's first direct drive robot, the industry's fastest parallel robot with USDA acceptance for meat and poultry processing, and a number of intelligent Adept mobile platforms demonstrating abilities like basic human interface, media content delivery, and line replenishment in warehouse environments. This will all be taking place at the Automate 2011 show in Chicago from March 21 to 24 in Adept's Booth 1063, the Emerging Technologies Pavilion Booth 139, the RIA's 50th Anniversary Tribute Exhibit in Booth 660, and the entrance of the show hall.
50th Anniversary Robot Pavilion - Booth 660
Automate 2011 honors robotics industry pioneers with a special tribute at the Show, and a Gala Dinner presentation of the industry's highest honor, the Joseph F. Engelberger Robotics Award. Automate 2011 celebrates the rich history of robotics and automation and presents a window into its future. Special displays will showcase the Past, Present and Future of Robotics as compiled by the RIA, which includes an AdeptOne robot, the industry's first direct drive robot.
Adept Quattro s650HS - Booth 1063
Adept will be showing an Adept Quattro s650HS robot, the USDA-accepted version of the high-speed family of parallel robots. Adept Quattro robots are a continuation of Adept's market-leading position in high-speed industrial robots. The Adept Quattro boasts a four-arm parallel-design that is specifically engineered for high-speed material handling, kitting, sorting, and packaging applications. The Adept Quattro s650HS USDA-accepted robot comes with the following series of benefits:
- 23% energy savings over its peers
- Sustainable smooth motions at high-speed operation
- Tool-less removal of arms and platforms for cleaning and sterilization
- Hygienic design with sealed mechanisms and smooth surfaces
- Compliance with USDA regulations
- Low footprint due to embedded amplifiers
- Capable of handling conveyor-tracking, vision-guided applications
Adept Mobile Platforms with Adept Motivity - Booth 1063
Adept Mobile Products help drive solutions to challenges faced in production, manufacturing, and logistics. Three Adept MT400 mobile robots, powered by Adept Motivity, will demonstrate for Automate attendees how goods leaving a processing cell can be effectively moved through peopled spaces automatically. The Adept MT400 finds its way, performs tasks, speaks, responds, and carries out other jobs automatically and on demand. Adept Motivity products differentiate themselves in their ability to deliver real natural feature navigation, which eliminates the barriers to the adoption associated with traditional AGV technologies including costs and complexity of installation. This enabling technology solves many problems faced by those who currently employ AGVs, and those who haven't due to their limitations.
- Adept Motivity can be used with any base stations to quickly integrate and deploy mobile robot applications
- There are over 3,000 such units deployed and covering millions of miles using autonomous navigation
- Adept MT400 can be quickly installed for industrial applications requiring flexible mobile automation
RIA Uses Adept WelcomeBot to Greet Show Attendees - Show Hall Entrance
The Robotics Industries Association has teamed up with Adept to showcase an Adept MT490 mobile platform that will interface with attendees and exhibitors as they enter the Automate show hall. The Adept MT490 is powered by Adept Motivity, which allows the robot to use natural feature navigation to make its way around the crowd of attendees . Adept Motivity-based mobile robots are easily deployed in less than four steps. Users simply (1) build a map by using joystick control to drive the Adept Mobile Robot around their facility; (2) use MobilePlanner to annotate the map with tagged locations, driving behaviors, and do-not-go zones; and (3) set up predetermined path plans, enjoy optimized path planning, schedule activity with a calendar, add call buttons, and more.
Adept at the Emerging Technologies Pavilion - Booth 139
Adept will be demonstrating an Adept MT400 mobile platform in Booth 139 at the Emerging Technologies Pavilion, Automate event's pavilion dedicated to state-of-the-art robotic technology. This will be demonstrating how to use an Adept MT400 mobile platform powered by Adept Motivity as a way to deliver content and interface with users.
Adept offers enabling navigational technology to increase the productivity of mobile assets such as Automated Guided Vehicles.
Payloads deployed on mobile vehicles powered by Adept Motivity are delivered via efficient and dynamic routing, are capable of managing unanticipated interruptions, and cater well for the on-demand movement of materials. AGVs enabled with technology from Adept add value by optimizing asset utilization across various logistical configurations.
In addition to the above exhibits, Adept Technology, Inc.'s CEO John Dulchinos will be participating in the IFR CEO Round Table Discussion, which focuses on being competitive with robots as well as the first results of World Robotics 2011.
Automate 2011 is sponsored by the Automation Technologies Council, which includes the Robotic Industries Association, the Automated Imaging Association, and the Motion Control Association. Together these trade groups represent some 575 companies that supply, integrate, and use robotics, machine vision and motion control, as well as leading research organizations and consulting firms.
