Motoman’s pre-engineered MotoRail™ 7 solutions use a six-axis robot invert-mounted from a servo-controlled overhead rail (available in lengths from 4-32 m in 2 m increments). This seven-axis design reduces floorspace requirements while also providing extended reach and improved access to multiple stations. It can reduce cycle times by 20 percent compared to six-axis solutions. MotoRail 7 is ideal for a variety of applications, including machine loading, material handling, welding, deburring, trimming, deflashing, load/unload of injection mold machines and dispensing. It can be used for identical or progressive operations at multiple cells. Independent or truly coordinated operation is possible. MotoRail uses the DX200 controller and is available with a variety of robot models in 12-, 24-, 35-, 50-, 80- or 200-kg payload versions. MotoRail 7 solutions are easily deployed, and can often use existing machine layouts. Rail mounting reduces floorspace requirements and allows better access to parts through machine tool front doors or through the top. This configuration also provides easy access for tool changes and part setups, and reduces trip hazards. MotoRail 7 can be used for identical or progressive operations at multiple machining cells.
