The delta-style, low profile Motoman® MPP3S “short” robot provides superior performance for high-speed assembly, picking, packing, cartoning and kitting applications. It can perform up to 185 cycles per minute (CPM) with a 1 kg payload capacity, and up to 150 cycles with a 3 kg payload capacity. CPM rate includes 0.04 second per cycle for part acquisition and release. This model complements the MPP3H, our larger delta-style robot, by offering the same high application performance and payload in about 20% less installation space. Both models have a three-arm, 4-axis configuration with a direct-driven rotary axis to simplify its design and increase reliability.
With a small, less than 700 mm diameter installation area, the MPP3S robot is ideal for high-density installations. It features an 800 mm diameter horizontal reach with a z-stroke of up to 300 mm, making it suitable for primary packaging, assembly, inspection and other applications. The MPP3H has several key features that promote easy integration. A large 80 mm thru-hole at the base allows end-of-arm tool cables to be routed through the center of the robot, permitting less complex cabling and reduced cable lengths. The thru-hole can also be used to mount the valve pack at the base of the robot, reducing the payload the robot has to carry. In addition, maintenance is simplified due to a single entry point at the base for applying lubricant.
The ISO cleanliness class 5 design, IP67 protection rating, anti-corrosive paint and NSF-H1 certified food-grade lubricant of both models are standard, allowing them to be used in many industries including food and beverage, consumer package goods, pharmaceutical, life sciences and automotive.
