Hi. I'm making a template for my company to use when we are performing our risk assessments as we are new to RIA. We are a robot integrator and also we design the robot cells(mechanical and electrical). I understand the risk assessment part, but I'm confused about the checklists Part 1: Annex F and Part 2:Annex G. We once hired a professional safety assessment firm on our behalf, and they only completed Part 1:Annex F. But we are now going to do our own assessments, and I feel as though we should be doing both. Any suggestions from another integrator/OEM? Do you fill out one of them or both? Thanks in advance.

When programming a system such as a Ferris wheel with an area scanner or light curtains is it considered ok to use reference positions to indicate when the light curtains or scanner can be muted to load the load side of the cell as long as there is a button or a device that must be pushed once you leave the load zone which dictates the load is ready and the curtains or scanner will then be unmuted awaiting the completion of the run and all safety is active protecting the operator from re-entry?

I am integrating an ABB IRC5 robot using the 841-1 Ethernet/IP Master-Slave option. I want to have a controllogix PLC be master to the ABB robot as a slave. I also want the same port on the robot to be the master to a network of digital I/O, namely DSQC1030 I/O modules. Anyone with experience and some help on this would be fantastic. Thanks, Jack

I have a series of 4 round parts ranging from an OD of 200mm and an ID of 108mm; thickness of 8mm. I'm looking for the best solution of deburring both sides following a turning operation. For now we'll say the OD has large spline teeth which have a large burr after turning. My vision is using a robot to pick the part from a conveyor, rotate the part to a series of stationary air driven wire brush units, and the robot able to rotate the part at a sufficient enough speed to deburr the part. Followed by placing the part on a conveyor. Can anyone help with this vision?
