Robotic Industries Association Posted 01/12/2021
James Hamilton and Robert Huschka promoted to VP of Sales; VP of Educational Strategies respectively
ANN ARBOR, MI – The Association for Advancing Automation (A3), the global advocate for the benefits of automating, promoted James Hamilton to vice president of sales and Robert Huschka to vice president of educational strategies. “Jim and Robert’s ideas, energy, and overall excellence in their roles were critical to A3’s success in 2020,” said Jeff Burnstein, President of A3. “In the most challenging of years, they performed at the highest level, just like they have during each of their years at the association. They have truly earned their promotions.”
James Hamilton – Vice President of Sales
Hamilton has worked as a sales professional for nearly 20 years, with the majority of this experience within trade associations. He has been a critical staff member of A3 for more than six years, handling sales initiatives including exhibits, sponsorships, advertising, and tradeshow operations. As a member of the A3 leadership team, Hamilton will manage all the sales direction for the association.
He earned a B.A. from Central Michigan University where he studied sports management and public communications. Before getting into the sales industry, Hamilton worked for the Detroit Tigers as a video coordinator. He and his wife Brie have two boys Carter, 14, and Chase, 11, both of whom Jim coaches in football in his home town of South Lyon, MI where he is also the football commissioner and head coach for their youth program.
“This promotion is a testament of all of the hard work that the A3 staff has put in over the years. I am very lucky to be part of such an amazing team and look forward to the bright future of this organization,” said Hamilton.
Robert Huschka – Vice President of Education Strategies
Huschka joined A3 in 2017 and directs the team responsible for education initiatives, standards development, and certification programs. He leads research into emerging automation technologies, such as artificial intelligence, 3D printing, 5G connectivity, blockchain, and cloud robotics – and serves as the liaison to the association’s Strategic Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence.
His team also curates the agendas for the associations’ industry-leading conferences, including The Automate Show, The Vision Show, and the Collaborative Robot, Advanced Vision & AI Conference. He served as the online conference host as A3 moved its events to virtual platforms during the pandemic.
Before joining A3, Huschka spent 25 years in journalism and served as the Executive Editor of the Detroit Free Press, where he led Michigan’s largest, most influential newsroom.
“As we leave the pandemic, we are expecting a tremendous surge in interest around robotics and advanced automation technologies. The Association for Advancing Automation is in a great position to help connect companies with the automation technologies and solutions provided by our members,” Huschka said.
