JMP Engineering Celebrates 30 Years: Living The JMP Way
JMP Solutions, Automation and Robotics Division Posted 05/01/2017
JMP Engineering is excited to celebrate 30 years of providing innovative engineering and turnkey solutions to their valued customers. Founded in London, Ontario in 1987 by engineers, John Miller and Paul Menary, JMP Engineering was created to provide high-quality control solutions to local manufacturers while living out The JMP Way. “As the company grew The JMP Way evolved, not consciously at first, but even early on there was an awareness that the openness, respect for people, relationships, and competency practiced were essential to the way we wanted to do business”, commented Miller. The JMP Way is a set of core values led by the creed; “We do what we say we do – every time, all the time.” These values are the heart and soul of everything they do and highlight their focus on integrity, relationships, leadership, respect, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence. They reflect where they came from and most importantly, where they are going. “Today, The JMP Way is well defined and thriving within the dedicated members of the JMP Team”, added Miller.
Current president and CEO, Scott Shawyer, joined the company in 1996, became president in 2001, and sole proprietor by 2005. While preserving the importance of The JMP Way, Shawyer leveraged and expanded the company’s focus by driving customer centricity within their now fourteen North American business units. Over the years, JMP also extended the breadth of its competencies to include process automation, information applications, and smart robotic systems while refining their purpose “to help people and businesses realize their full potential by continually redefining what is possible”.
JMP has received several prestigious awards such as the Microsoft Impact Award for Data Management Solutions and are inductees into the Control Engineering System Integrator Hall of Fame and the Packaging Digest Integrator Hall of Fame. They are also proud to be recognized as one of the “Top 50 Great Places to Work in Canada” for medium sized companies four years in a row. JMP Engineering sets itself apart as the only company in the world with Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) certification, Robotic Industries Association (RIA) certification, and recognition as a Rockwell Automation Solution Partner, holding four such technical designations. Steve Szamocki, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, explained, “Our focus on customer satisfaction and our ability to truly redefine what is possible are what drive us to be the best we can be and to provide our customers with solutions that drive real business value”.
JMP Engineering now boasts a team of 150+ employees, delivering over 15,000 solutions to more than 1,000 clients worldwide. Proud of the success and growth achieved over the last 30 years, Shawyer credits their success to their commitment to living The JMP Way. This unique way of doing business is both recognized and appreciated by their clients, as evidenced by their 80% Net Promoter customer satisfaction score. “Our growth has come directly from our customers wanting to do more business with us, and that has come directly from our employees living our values and aiming to deliver an extraordinary customer experience every day”, Shawyer expressed.
Please join JMP Engineering in celebrating 30 successful years, as they look forward to the promise of many more to come!
