Pendant Armor® Prepared to Protect New UR16e Components by Universal Robots

Leading manufacturer of robot protection Roboworld Molded Products prepares for the launch of the Universal Robots’ UR16e with UR e-Series Pendant Armor®, an energy-absorbing teach pendant bumper. Universal Robots released their newest member of the e-Series family, the UR16e collaborative robot, mid-September 2019. Pendant Armor offers buyers the opportunity to protect one of its’ critical components before it is even implemented on their manufacturing floor. Roboworld Molded Products also offers screen protectors to accompany their teach pendant bumpers for the UR e-Series. The UR e-Series Pendant Armor® and accessories are now available for purchase online.

Manufactured from Santoprene™ rubber, this bumper provides excellent protection for the UR teach pendant if accidentally dropped. Santoprene™ is immune to water, most water-based cleaning agents, and features excellent resistance to most industrial lubricants and fluids. The bumper is custom-molded to the teach pendant’s exterior shell and features a “stretch-to-fit” installation, without interfering with switchgear, the e-stop button, or USB connections. Pendant Armor’s energy-absorbing frame is perforated throughout the grip areas for weight-savings and to reduce surface tension and accumulation of fluids.
By using a Pendant Armor case on a teach pendant, one can reduce maintenance and repair costs. “We made the purchase to outfit all of our systems in both of our facilities [with Pendant Armor] and since then we have not had one dollar in repair or replacement. We like to make an investment and hopefully have an ROI within 2 years.
