RIA Members Open to Q&A on Robotics Online "Ask the Experts"
Robotic Industries Association Posted 09/02/2008ANN ARBOR, Michigan – A new networking service called "Ask the Experts" has been launched by Robotic Industries Association on Robotics Online. Only RIA members may serve on the panel of experts. From old robot parts and new technology to advice on careers, Ask the Experts is RIA's pipeline to people and answers that help bring success to those involved in the robotics industry.
"Networking is one of the great advantages of today's Internet experience and one of the most important benefits of RIA membership," said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Vice President, Robotic Industries Association. "With Ask the Experts on Robotics Online, we offer a new way for people in the industry enjoy that benefit."
RIA is North America's only trade association dedicated solely to the robotics industry. It has more than 270 corporate members representing thousands of business leaders which, explained Burnstein, helps make Ask the Experts such a unique and powerful service.
"We are talking about some of the sharpest, most experienced people in the industry. RIA members have long and prestigious careers working with robotics technology and we are lucky to have them for Ask the Experts on Robotics Online," said Burnstein.
Once a question from the site has been approved by RIA staff an alert goes to experts in the pertinent category. Experts simply login to their company's control panel on Robotics Online, click the inquiry and respond at their discretion.
When a question is answered a connection between expert and client is opened up, including a link to more information about the expert's company as published on Robotics Online.
Ask the Experts complements other networking tools on Robotics Online, including a Request for Quote service and Company Profiles where each member company can build a resumé of products, services and editorial. Members see all their contacts in a private Member Control Panel, which is a new dashboard environment to help RIA members see and manage a host of membership benefits.
Robotics Online has been published by Robotic Industries Association since the early days of Internet websites. Since 1996, it has been the number one online source for industrial robotics, and underwent a complete redesign in 2008 that culminated in a June launch with more functionality and a rebirth of its old URL: www.robotics.org – one of many measures instituted for user and search engine optimization.
Founded in 1974, RIA is the only trade group in North American organized specifically to serve the robotics industry. Member companies include leading robot manufacturers, users, system integrators, component suppliers, research groups, and consulting firms. RIA is renowned worldwide as the sponsor of the Joseph F. Engelberger Robotics Awards, co-produces the biennial International Robots & Vision Show and Conference plus many regional events and is secretariat of the ANSI/RIA R15.06-1999 Robot Safety Standard. RIA is the sole source of North American robotics industry statistics which are included in the World Robot Statistics published by the International Federation of Robotics. RIA also is publisher of the industry's leading Web portal, Robotics Online (www.robotics.org).
