Carolann is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) with over 20 years experience in the health and safety field, working primarily in the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
Carolann Quinlan-Smith is a Health and Safety Consultant for Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS) in the west region. WSPS is one of four non-profit, sector-based health and safety associations in the province of Ontario providing training, consulting, and resources for the manufacturing, agriculture, and service sectors. Her primary responsibilities as the region's machine safety representative are providing consulting services and technical training on machine safety and robotics, machine safeguarding assessments, risk assessments, and lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and equipment procurement program development.
Carolann has a strong working knowledge of the Canadian Standards Association's industry standards for machine safeguarding, robot and robot systems, power presses, workplace electrical safety, and the control of hazardous energy.
Carolann is a technical committee member on the ISO/TC 299, Robotics committee, and recently attended her first international meeting this year in Kyoto, Japan, representing Canada.
