Rob Vomiero is a Professional Mechanical Engineer, licensed in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Alberta, and holds a Certified and Health and Consultant Designation (CHSC) from the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering. Rob is currently a â€˜Machine and Robot Safety Technical Specialist with the Workplace Safety and Prevention Services which is a health and safety association in Ontario-Canada, and delivers technical training and consulting services in the areas Machine Safeguarding and Robot Safety. Prior to joining WSPS Rob was a principle consultant of Absolute Engineering Solutions Inc. (AES Inc.) for 14 years. During his time at AES Inc. he specialized in providing equipment Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSR's), along with other equipment safety consulting services including: safeguarding assessments and equipment compliance audits, control system drawing reviews, safeguarding upgrade recommendations, lockout/tagout procedures, risk assessments, etc., to various manufacturing industry sub-sectors including automotive, plastics, food/beverage, pharmaceutical, etc. Rob also has a strong background and experience with various Canadian (CSA), American (ANSI, ASME, NFPA), and also European (ISO, EN) equipment standards. Rob sits on the CSA Z434 Industrial Robot and Robot Systems Standard Committee, and is also a member of the ISO Technical Committee for Robots and Robotic Devices/Canadian Delegation.
Prior to the co-founding of Absolute Engineering Solutions Inc., Rob held positions with prominent organizations most notably Honda of Canada Manufacturing (Alliston, Ontario Plant), where his work experience included: automated equipment/robot cell design, assembly, installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting. Rob has extensive project management experience pertaining to the manufacture, installation and start-up of automated equipment systems.
