How to Select a Coupling

April 09, 2020

2PM - 3PM ET

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR

Coupling selection for motion systems often gets left for last. They can significantly affect the overall performance of the system, however. Couplings should be considered early in the design process. Specifying a coupling can be surprisingly nuanced. It’s easy to focus on torque transfer, but couplings can be used to address other issues such as compliance, shaft misalignment, size limitations, torque overload conditions, and more. Specifying a coupling requires taking into account a number of factors, including speed, thermal cycling, interfaces, and environmental conditions.

In this webinar, attendees can expect to learn:

  • The function, pros, and cons for the major types of couplings
  • Application requirements to take into account when choosing a coupling
  • How to properly specify a coupling
